The revolutionary Aspherics2 optical system of the Dedolight far
surpasses the traditional concept of studio lights with Fresnel
lenses. With the use of two Aspheric lenses which are perfectly
matched for each of the many focusing positions, it has become
possible to improve light output, enhance the smoothness of the
lit field and increase barndoor control from flood to spot.
The zoom motion of the second lens further increases the
focusing range.
The result of this new technology provides:
Technical
Advantages
* Higher light output
* Smoother field of light
* Cleaner spot
* Improved full flood
* Better barndoor control
* Improved character of light
Technical Specifications
* Two relation computed Asheric2 lenses
* Larger reflector
* Added relative movement of second lens (zoom focus)
* Shield/baffle integrated in new movement provides a cleaner
beam

THE ELECTRONIC/DIMMABLE DEDOLIGHT - DLHDIM4

The Dedolight head (DLH4) is equipped with an in-line electronic power supply (DT24-1) installed in the cable between the head and the AC outlet. The power supply may be switched to provide an output of 3400 K, 3200 K or continuously dimmable from maximum to off.
The power supply can be disconnected from the light head when battery operation is required. 24V lamps can be used up to 150W when used with the power supply. 12V lamps may be installed when used with a battery.
Features:
* New Dedolight Asperics2 optics
* Drastically improved light output
* 24V/150W in-line electronic power supply
* Dimmable
* Available in four primary voltage ranges: 100V, 120V, 230V, 240VAC
Technical Data: DLHDIM4
Weight: (DLH4 & DT24-1) 2.7 lb. (1.22 kg)
Size: (DT24-1) 9 x 2.75 x 1.5" (22.8 X 7 x 3.8 cm)
Input voltage: 100-240VAC (to order)
Output voltage: 0V-24VAC/150W max.
Focusing range
Measuring lux or foot-candle values in the center, the Dedolight system provides a flood-to-spot ratio of 1:25. Traditional small fresnel studio lights provide a maximum ratio of 1:4. Even larger, well designed, fresnel studio lights - 2 kW, for example - might only provide 1:7.
SUPERIOR LIGHT EFFICIENCY
In flood position - 46° beam angle - the intensity of a 100W Dedolight head compares favorably with a typical 300W
fresnel.
In spot position - 4.5° beam angle - the Dedolight delivers approximately four times the intensity of a typical 300W fresnel and is more comparable to an 800W or 1000W fixture. Such calculations, however, cannot be based on similar areas of coverage, since fresnel systems cannot focus nearly as tightly.
EVEN LIGHT DISTRIBUTION
The Dedolight system's twin lens innovation, in conjunction with the micro-lens pattern, ensures exceptionally even light distribution. In flood, the light distribution of the Dedolight shows a soft shoulder, with no variation of intensity across the entire field. No hot spots. No rings. No holes. Just perfectly even light.
THE CLEAN BEAM
Light theory defines the beam as any area with an intensity of at least 50% of maximum. Anything less than 50% is spread or stray light. This scientific definition has no relevance to the Dedolight system which has no spread, no spurious light - just clean beam.
A LOW-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
Dedolight heads operate with 12V or 24V halogen lamps (GY6.35 base), which significantly contributes to the functioning of the optics, the superior efficiency of the light and the compact size of the system.
ECONOMY
The purchase price of a Dedolight head is approximately the same as that of a 300W
fresnel. But, as every lighting professional knows, the major expense of a lighting system is not the purchase price but the operating costs. Here, our advanced technology clearly pays off, cutting operating costs between 90 percent and 99 percent. In time, the Dedolight system pays for itself many times over. Here's how:
* The lamps used in the Dedolight system cost about one-fifth as much as those in lights with comparable output.
* The 12V lamps last eight to twenty times as long. That's the difference between buying a new lamp once every week and buying one every two to five months.
* Dedolight lamps are virtually indestructible, unharmed by the shocks, knocks and vibration that regularly blow standard halogen lamps.
* Dedolight systems consume as little as one-sixth the electricity used by conventional lights. And the system's low wattage almost never blows a fuse.
How long does it take for a Dedolight system to pay for itself? If you replace an existing light with a Dedolight head, the cost will be amortized in about 20 months depending on frequency of use. If you buy a Dedolight head instead of adding another 300 Watt fresnel to your collection, the purchase cost may amortize in a few months.
RUGGED CONSTRUCTION PROVEN IN USE
Part of the secret of the Dedolight system's near indestructibility is the ruggedness of its filament - even strong impact will not break it. Take a Dedolight. Switch it on. Slam it. Shake it. Vibrate it. No problem. This makes the Dedolight system the most reliable choice for the harshest environments, and absolutely indispensable if you are shooting from a shuddering helicopter, a bouncing power boat or a Land Rover on a rough wilderness assignment.
